EMPRESS™ Zoysia is the ideal choice in applications where a fine, small-leaf, soft-textured turf is desired. It is well suited for use in home lawns, golf courses, parks and sports fields. EMPRESS™ Zoysia was discovered in Brazil and performs well in hot, humid conditions. It requires less maintenance and mowing than other grasses, such as fescue or Bermuda. This versatile turf grass thrives in agriculture zones 7-11 and is being tested in zones 5 and 6 for cold hardiness.

Sod Solutions, Inc. is pleased to introduce EMPIRE™ Zoysia, a selected native cultivar of Zoysia Japonica, chosen specifically for its ability to reduce production costs while demonstrating very desirable growth characteristics. EMPIRE™ Zoysia demonstrates superior dark green color, wide bladed and open growth habit for some natural chemical resistance and good drought tolerance. EMPIRE™ Zoysia was discovered in Brazil and unlike other Zoysia varieties, has proven its ability to thrive in hot, humid conditions. EMPIRE™ Zoysia has performed well in sandy and clay soil types with aggressive growth from its runners and rhizomes, but can be mowed with a standard rotary mower due to its broader leaf and open growth habit. This versatile turf grass thrives in agriculture zones 6B-11 and is being tested in zones 5 and 6 for cold hardiness extremes.
